friendly game of baseball....or not....
been back in Taipei for over a month now....had quite a few anecdotes i'll like to share....ok...this first one was a few weeks back one weekday night at around 10 pm...I was making my way back home from the subway when I saw a group of youngsters some distance away...hmm....I thought to myself...that's a big crowd...class outing perhaps?....as I got closer things got interesting....many of the kids were carrying baseball bats. I was thinking, wow these kids must really love baseball, out to play at this hour...but wait a minute...there no baseball diamond anywhere around 忠孝東路! So as I got even closer I looked again....and bam...there it is...these kids surrounded a taxi and were either harassing the passenger, the driver or perhaps both. So with another nonchalant glance(one must be careful not to look too hard these days....though I'm rather tall and intimidating from afar I really just a big piece of tofu...) I observed discreetly what was going on....Seemed that the passenger pissed off the group of teenagers somehow and now those teens are trying to beat up the dude hiding inside the taxi...I think the most suei person is the taxi driver...可憐的小黃...The driver's clueless at how to react to the situation...he can't drive off when his car is surrounded and he can't let his passenger leave or else he'll just get pulverized...The most amazing thing is that all this happened in one of the busiest part of town....those teens have some nerve eh? especially with the police station just some 100 meters away....Since I'm a big piece of tofu I'm in no position to interfere, and seeing that someone nearby is already calling the police there's nothing much to do...Thus I continued walking past the group(nonchalantly of course) as if I didn't see anything.....Hah.....yes I'm a wimp...but better safe than sorry.
